Hi, I'm Iestyn.

Sport & Exercise Therapist, strength & conditioning coach, and a rugby player who's spent plenty of time on the other side of the treatment table.

The short version

A therapist who trains, competes and gets injured too.

I founded IW Sports Therapy in November 2024 and went full-time in 2025. I work with anyone in pain, from farmers and lorry drivers to parents and athletes, and I build the plan that gets them back to moving well and staying that way.

Because I play semi-professional rugby myself, I've lived the frustration of niggles and injuries. That means I don't just treat you clinically, I understand what it actually feels like to be sidelined and desperate to get back.

My story

How IW Sports Therapy started

Day one at uni

A last-minute switch that changed everything

I originally enrolled to study Sports Science. On the opening day I switched to Sports Therapy because it simply looked more interesting. It's the best decision I've made.

November 2024

Starting out, part-time

I began IW Sports Therapy alongside my degree, treating people around my studies and learning what it really takes to help someone recover.

March 2025

Taking it seriously

I committed properly, building a steady base of clients across West Wales and refining how I assess, treat and rehab.

2025 onwards

Full-time, and growing

IW Sports Therapy became my full-time work. Today I run clinics across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire and coach strength & conditioning too.

Credentials you can trust

Qualified, still learning, and an athlete myself

Trusting someone to work on your body is a big deal. Here's why you're in safe hands.

BSc Sport & Exercise TherapyUniversity of Wales Trinity Saint David, Carmarthen.
SST memberMember of the Society of Sports Therapists.
Level 4 Strength & ConditioningQualified, so your training is properly programmed.
Semi-pro rugby playerI train and compete, so I relate to injuries first-hand.

My philosophy

Longevity over quick fixes

A band-aid gets you through the week. I'm more interested in why the problem happened and how we stop it coming back. That means proper assessment, honest explanations in plain English, and a plan you actually understand.

I never like people coming to me unless I'm confident I can help. If I can, I'll show you exactly what needs fixing and walk the whole path with you, from "I can't move" to "I'm back doing what I love."

Proof it works

From a Grade 2 ankle sprain back to sport

My first full rehab client came in with a Grade 2 lateral ankle sprain. Over about two to three months we got their range back, rebuilt the strength, returned them safely to running and got them back playing sport.

That's the sort of work I'm here for. Not just easing the pain today, but getting you back to everything you want to do, and keeping you there.

Not sure where to start? That's normal.

Most people arrive knowing something's wrong but not what. Book a session and we'll figure it out together, or message me first with any questions.
