Common questions

Before you book

What actually is sports therapy?

It's the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of pain and injury, using hands-on techniques and exercise. Despite the name, it's for anyone with pain, not just sportspeople. If your body isn't moving the way it should, sports therapy helps find out why and fix it.

What is strength & conditioning, and do I need it?

S&C is structured strength training designed to make you more capable and resilient. It's one step up from standard personal training. You don't have to be an athlete, it helps office workers, parents and anyone who wants to move and feel better hold onto their progress long-term.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends entirely on what's going on. Some issues improve noticeably in a single session, others (like a full rehab) run over a couple of months. I'll always give you an honest picture after your assessment, no drip-feeding you sessions you don't need.

Does treatment hurt?

Some techniques like deep tissue work can feel intense, but treatment should never be something you have to grit your teeth through. I check in constantly and adjust to you. Comfort and results, not gratuitous pain.

Isn't it expensive?

Think of it as investing in yourself. Sorting a problem properly, and building the strength to keep it away, costs far less over time than living with pain or patching it up again and again. This is about longevity, not a quick fix.

Why should I trust you with my body?

Fair question. I'm a qualified Sport & Exercise Therapist (BSc) and SST member, with a Level 4 qualification in Strength & Conditioning. I'm also a semi-pro rugby player, so I've been the injured one plenty of times. You're getting someone who understands it clinically and first-hand.
